‘Neptune’, ‘Merlin’ and ‘Solano’ have seating for up to 10 passengers. ‘Sirocco’, ‘Levante’ and ‘Chinook’ can accommodate 8 passengers whilst ‘Diablo’ and ‘Zonda’ can accommodate 6 passengers. There are adult lifejackets onboard, but you will need to provide your own for children. There are no age limits although all those on board will need to be in good physical health. Dogs are not allowed on Club boats.
Our annual membership is £10,500 for unlimited usage of the Club fleet. You can add a spouse or member of your family who lives at your home address as an additional helm for a yearly fee of £1,000. Only the member and this one additional person are permitted to helm the boats. Please enquire with our team for the latest pricing.
Members will be given a username and login to our booking App which can be downloaded to your mobile / tablet or accessed via the member’s portal on the Club website.
The App shows availability and allows you to book your session. Members can book a maximum of two sessions in advance. A full day booking is two sessions. As soon as you have used a ‘session’, you can book another.
A ‘session’ is:
– Morning – One hour before sunrise to 1pm
or
– Afternoon – 1.30pm to one hour after sunset
Members are also entitled to one ‘Golden Ticket’ per year. A Golden Ticket is a full day booking which can be made as far in advance as you wish. This is perfect if you wish to block off your birthday, anniversary, Bank Holiday Monday or for a special event.
Overnight bookings are also available on request providing the boat is not used after dark and is berthed in a marina/harbour overnight. Overnights require an afternoon and morning session.
No. Just use the App to remove your booking so that the boat shows as available to other members. You may cancel your booking at any time and for any reason.
We limit the number of members per boat to ensure you get unlimited access to boats from your membership. As membership of the Lymington Boat Club expands, so will the Fleet of Boats. More members will lead to a bigger and more diverse fleet available for use.
Yes, we operate the boats every day of the year. Each boat is refitted once a year, a process that will typically take a week but refits are scheduled sequentially to maximise boat availability. ‘Zonda’, ‘Diablo’, ‘Chinook’ and ‘Levante’ are fitted with cabin heaters which make colder days much more comfortable.
Thankfully, this is not really an issue, but should the worst happen, we aim to get to you within an hour anywhere on the Solent. All of our boats are covered by Sea Start.
A picnic, plenty of water, warm clothes, sunglasses, fishing rod (perhaps), and your snorkel! Good quality waterproofs will keep you dry and warm. We provide all the safety equipment including adult lifejackets.
Absolutely, you are welcome to fish from any boat. We ask members not to clean fish onboard.
These are mostly common sense. It is the combination of wind, tide strength and direction of flow that matter most. Visit our Health & Safety page for more detail.
The Solent has many spectacular water-based events such as Cowes Week. See our Events Diary for a full listing of our favourites.
